And more sprouts

The Brussels Sprouts have now sprouted!

And so has the red cabbage.

It is so much fun to have some sprout right away - I don't know about you, but when I see the first sprouts, I can almost taste them - even though it will be months before I actually do.

Hi Kathi, I love reading gardening blogs and I've bookmarked yours for future browsing.

I'm interested in your watering system...a mat on plastic...do you have the end in a bucket of water? That is one thing I haven't figured out yet. I'd appreciate any advice you could send my way.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I should start some Brussels Sprouts now too. Too wet to much in the garden today so I should start some more seedlings inside. You are very organized and have things nicely labeled!

Hi Alberta,
Thanks for stopping by. The plants are just sitting in a black plastic tray that I pour water in. In previous years I used a mat to distribute the water more evenly, but decided to skip it this year and see if it really was necessary - next year I'll probably go back to using it. The trays dip down in the center (they came with my light set up) and the ones in the middle are sitting in water all the time while the outside ones dry out.

Petunia - thanks for stopping by also. I try and stay organized - some years are better than others. We'll see how organized I stay.....
