The tomato plants are looking very healthy in the basement.


The pepper plants are not looking so good. Most of them are not up.


The cabbage and brocolli look great - the cauliflower and brussells sprouts not so good.


I have this pile of grape vines on the patio table from the fall. What was I thinking? Did I really think I could use them to weave a basket or something? I think they need to go in the compost....


The snow shovels are still by the back door - I think we can safely put them away now.......at least I hope so.


Lilac buds will soon be fragrant flowers! I can't wait - I love lilacs in the spring.


Lillies will soon be up.


The rhubarb is awakening also.

Kind of blurry - but some of Andy's garlic A (the old stuff) is actually coming up.


My next big project - I have started digging these shrubs out. I don't like the bushes in the front of the house and the rocks. I want a nice flower bed with mulch.

Even though the Bell Peppers are small, they are producing peppers!


The cabbage continues to look wonderful!


And I have started picking cucumbers!

I sure hope it rains today so I don't have to water - I haven't finished reading Harry Potter yet!

The cucumbers are vining nicely and starting to flower.


A new lilly is blooming. I don't remember what kind of a lilly it is - I planted it years ago when I first bought this house and I have memory any more.


The biggest baby watermelon is growing nicely. Andy talks to it every day to make it grow. I have to get a picture of him talking to it one day.


The pole beans are growing up the strings and starting to flower. I can't wait for that first taste of fresh green beans.


The Opkala tomatoes are doing nicely. All of them survived the hail. Of the other two varieties I planted only one plant each survived and were replaced with grape tomatoes from the nursery (grape tomatoes was all the nursery had left that late in the season).

In spite of the crazy weather and snow just a few days ago, I am able to find signs of spring in my garden.

The weather is supposed to be great this weekend - maybe in the 60s on Sunday! This will be a great weekend to get things done outside.

This is along the back of the house - just past the earth boxes. I have day lillies, cucumbers, bell peppers, zuchinni and some new flowers there (I can't remember the name of them). Once the plants are all up, I am going to cover the black plastic with mulch - it is not a solid plastic, it does allow the rain to go through it.
